Indiana Health Information Exchange's (IHIE) Service Delivery team implements and supports technologies that directly impact the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare.  We are seeking a Manager, Systems Integration with strong analytical skills to join the team. Summary:  The Manager, Systems Integration oversees and directs the work of the Systems Integration team.  This position works closely with IHIE Directors, Project Managers, Developers, Support/Integration teams to ensure that the team delivers configuration, support, and implementation work to the satisfaction of IHIE customers.  This role will exercise strong analysis, troubleshooting, and managerial experience while providing technical & procedural mentorship to team members.  

Essential Functions:

Essential functions include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

1. Team Management

  • Oversee, prioritize, and manage day-to-day operations of Systems Integration team
  • Coordinate with IHIE Managers, Directors, and PMs to ensure the Systems Integration team is providing high quality support and successful client implementations
  • Address inter-team and intra-team knowledge transfer, cross training, communication, documentation, relationships, and cooperation
  • Report team status, accomplishments, progress, and issues
  • Manage HR team responsibilities including job descriptions, hiring processes, capacity planning, and identify resource needs
  • Create personal & team goals based on company objectives
  • Evaluate performance and deliver feedback via regular one-on-one meetings and yearly reviews
  • Define training plans, promote new experiences, and offer challenges to advance team member professional development
  • Participate in Incident Manager on-call rotation

2. Systems Integration

  • Serve as an escalation or decision point for technical, business logic, and workflow questions
  • Provide hands-on involvement and energetic leadership by example with troubleshooting, analysis, root cause identification, configuration, deployment, and implementation tasks assigned to the team
  • Collaborate on implementation project requirements, variables, timelines, and ongoing support implications/demands
  • Participate in Scrum rituals like grooming, planning, and stand-ups to oversee work efforts
  • Create, document, implement, and improve workflows and processes
  • Establish best practices and expectations for artifacts, testing, and deliverables
  • Proactively identify and own tasks that improve IHIE's efficiency and the SI Team's efficacy
  • Implement tools and software that empower the Systems Integration Team to accomplish goals

Education:         

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience highly preferred


Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience managing, guiding, and mentoring a team
  • 3+ years' experience in healthcare IT
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, business logic, data flow, and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical peers on solutions and issues
  • Experience working directly with customers and/or vendors
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, delegation, and advocacy
  • Ability to develop relationships with a variety of personality types
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team

 Preferred:

  • Experience managing an IT support function
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems, HIPAA regulated environment, or with health data
  • Experience with HL7 message protocol
  • Understanding of interface engines such as MIRTH, CloverLeaf, or DataGate
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Good understanding of project management, Agile methodologies, and Scrum or Scrum Master experience
  • Basic experience/understanding with any of the following: XML data, regular expression, programming experience
